If you would like to generate heat in the body while also feeling still and calm through gentle, long holding asanas, this practice is for you. 

This class is designed to deliver a balanced practice between gentle yang flow with the therapeutic practice of yin. The first half of this class will focus on yang loving flows for strengthening and heating the body, while the second half will focus on quiet and deep yin poses.

In this class we slow down to unpack the foundational yoga postures, transitions and breathwork found in most modern yoga classes. Taking the time to break down postures and transitions will help students to strengthen, stretch and get the most out of any yoga practice. This class is great from anyone from complete beginners to those with a regular yoga practice who are looking to add to their knowledge.

Yin is the slow, passive opposing force to Yang; the quick and active force. In this class we use movement and pranayama to explore the balance of Yin and Yang within our lives and practice. We begin with flowing movement intended to build fire and then find stillness by holding more passive postures for longer periods of time. Connection to breath is the emphasis here whether in movement or stillness.

This class will start with a mindfulness meditation, calming the mind and nervous system before flowing into a dynamic series of postures that will synchronise movement with breath. Expect playful yet accessible sequencing that gently builds stamina, increases flexibility, and improves circulation. Then, complete your practice and release any lingering tension with cooling, passive floor postures that will ease your body and mind, preparing you for rest.

Candlelit Yin & Restore

A slow, meditative practice that takes place in a calming, candlelit environment. Yin Yoga emphasizes the release of connective tissues and joints in the body through passive, longer-held floor postures. The use of bolsters, cushions and blankets is encouraged to comfortably support your body in each pose, with breath work incorporated to further deepen relaxation. Come to this class to decompress and rest.
